I created bolor because I needed skincare and haircare that was affordable, uncomplicated, and actually worked—something that harnessed the most effective ingredients from around the world without the luxury markup. When I couldn't find affordable options, I went into the lab and created them.

I’m Toyin, a chemical engineer, born and raised in West Africa. My professional background taught me the rigorous science behind how formulas are made, but my heritage taught me the undeniable power of what comes straight from the earth. bolor is the collision of those two worlds.
In my native Yoruba, the word a-bolor-e translates to "the gift of return." That single word is the soul of this brand. We are returning to the source. For us, "returning" means looking to the earth's purest, most potent resources—the time-tested heritage botanicals that communities have relied on for generations.
